Vintage 1970s Navy Blue & White One Piece Striped Hotpants Jumper
|
What a find! Can you believe it? In my 25 years of collecting
vintage clothing I have only found 3 original one piece hotpants outfits.
Imagine my glee at finding this one !
This never worn or deadstock 1960's or 1970's hot pants jumper is made of terry
cloth, a wonderful lightweight fuzzy fabric that we wore in the 70s. This
one is mostly cotton with a bit of nylon thrown in for stretch.
The one piece shorts outfit has a long front metal zipper for easy entry and an
might have a belt; I need to find it. This will probably only fit a short petite person as it is a
little short in the inseam. It is meant to be worn very short though, but
again the wearer should probably be 5'2" or shorter.
The stripes in this are
navy blue, white and lime, no black as the photo implies.
This could not be more perfect for a 1960s or 1970s theme party. I remember
wearing these terry cloth outfits in the 70s, but I have never seen one since
(in the last many many years) other than this one.
These are washable, but to preserve the color one should hand wash in cold
water that has a tablespoon of white vinegar in it. It is in perfect condition now and ready to
wear.
