Original 1960's Minidress justice.
It is just adorable in person and it is not as elongated as my picture may
imply. The original vintage dress is knee length instead of being really short
like many of the daring minidresses we wore during that time.
I think the dress would be a SIZE 6
by today's sizing standards. It is made of a muslin feeling fabric that is
most likely 100% cotton. It is smooth and not scratchy like muslin though.
The background of the possibly never worn navy blue dress is splattered with
white dots. Adorning the neckline, cuffs and near the bottom of the dress
is a heavy white appliqe trim. The
Original 1960s or early 1970's Dress is
really quite unique and in excellent condition. It would not have been
uncommon to see a guest attending a wedding wearing a dress of this style in
1973. Don't ask how I know. Those are just rumors that I was a
flower girl in a wedding that year.
The fabric is very light and the sleeves are somewhat sheer so someone could
wear this dress during the summer in most parts of the country other than the
deep south, where it is really too humid for humans to even venture outdoors
after the month of April until October.
The chest measures 34 1/2" - 35". The waist is only 28" and the hips
are a generous 38" as the dress is full-skirted.
The "minidress" would not be considered very short so if you are a modest person
attending a 1960's or 1970's party the 39" length is probably perfect. It
would be easy to turn up the bottom 3-4" if one wanted it to be more of a mini
length.
This dress really would have been worn with white maryjane shoes during its
time, but it would probably look fine with a pair of my shiny
White Patent Go Go Boots

original 1960's
or early 1970's dress once again
should fit about a
Size 6.
Unless shortened the length would probably work best for a person who is 5' 5" or
taller.
