Navy Blue Original 1970's
Wrap Mini Dress

One can't really tell by this
picture, but this is actually one of the neatest original 1970's dresses I have
had in stock in 15 years. It is rare to find an original wrap dress, one
of the more flattering styles from that period. This navy blue polyester
with ultrasuede middle may be in mint condition.
It is made of somewhat slinky polyester knit. It is has a nice feel and
lays well. It is not thick like double knit polyester.
The waist has an ultrasuede insert which is a nice touch. It is the same
color of navy as the dress and possesses polka dots in light blue, hot pink and
medium blue. There are also some stitched or appliqued circles in the same
colors. The dress would certainly work for a 1970's theme party, although
it is nice enough to wear to the office as these wrap dresses are being
reproduced by high fashion designers.
I would say this is probably a
size 7/8, although it is adjustable.
The chest is about 34.5 " - 35" right now, but there is a snap that could be
moved to make it smaller or larger. The waist which hooks is currently at
28", but again could be adjusted. The dress would probably look best
on 38" hips, but it is definitely cut very full capable of accommodating
much larger hips.
The length is on this is a bit long to be able to refer to it as a true mini
dress. It is ideal for a tall person or someone who is too modest to wear
a true mini dress. Its current length would hit just above or at the knee
on a tall person. Naturally it could be shortened.
The dress has a simple, yet timeless and classic cut that is very
comfortable. My light blue or my hot pink go go boots would go well with
it highlighting the polka dots at the waist.
