Oxford Swing Shoes
There's nothing much more comfortable
for swing dancing than oxford shoes. This style of women's oxford lace up
shoes was worn to sock hops more than one may realize. The completely
smooth hard leather bottoms make them great for
spinning.
These original vintage shoes are in
Mint Condition.
The
never worn
shoes have
baby soft calfskin leather
uppers and rarely ever seen hard
leather sewn on soles. The heels do have a sturdy hard plastic bottom.
There is a stitched design with perforations on the upper that penetrate only
the top layer of leather.
The actual color of this pair is
pale gray or winter white. They have a beigeish gray tint that changes with the surrounding lighting making them a very flexible color. They'd
make great dance shoes, but would look fantastic with 1940's tailored pants as
well.
These never worn mint condition shoes likely date sometime between the
1950's through the
1960's. They are made of a very high grade leather and are very high quality shoes.
I have the original shoe box for them which priced them at $135.00 back then!
That would be about $400 now.
All of the shoes from this lot run larger than their indicated sizes.
These say size 9, but appear to be a narrow 9 1/2 at least. They are over
10 3/4" long and are just under 3 3/4" wide which I believe is narrow for a foot
of that length. The heels are barely 1" in height.
