What a find! Can you believe it? In my 25 years of collecting
vintage clothing I have only found 5 original one piece hotpants outfits.
This one is almost too fun for words.
This is a vintage one piece hot pants outfit that is in great condition.
It has a giant fly collar and back zipper. The size 6/7 piece is mostly
polyester. The shorts part might be a poly aceteate blend. They are
only a little stretchy, where the top is very stretchy.
The top is a puckered very thin polyester that was white, but now has a slight
lavender tint to it from this being hand washed. It does not look dingy in
color as the photo may suggest. The butterflies are a true purple color.
The shorts may be a bit violet purple depending on what kind of lighting
the outfit is in.
The chest area measures about 35" before stretching. One's chest probably
needs to be at least 34" to look good in this. The chest will easily
stretch to 38 or more inches.
The waist is 29 1/2 inches and can stretch up to 31". The hips are 36 or
37 inches and only stretch a little bit.
There is a pin head size hole in the front near the bottom that is really hard
to notice. It's in an area that will be loose when on so I don't think it
would be noticeable. I'll try to have my seamstress patch the back of it
if time allows.
The garment is perfectly clean right now. After wearing it should
be dry cleaned or hand washed in cold with mild soap, no woolite.
This would look great with white or purple go go boots.
